San Gimignano is located in Val d’Elsa in the province of Siena, 56 km to the south of Florence. It was declared UNESCO World Heritage site for the characteristic medieval architecture of its historic centre. Its walls and fortified houses create an unforgettable view, in the heart of the Etruscan landscape. San Gimignano was a meeting point for pilgrims to and from Rome on the Via Francigena.
